The city, of Roman origin, is famous for having preserved over the centuries the appearance of a medieval city, where the artisan tradition is still alive, its monuments and above all the splendid main square, where are located the main religious and civic monuments.
Bevagna is a town of about 5,000 inhabitants in the province of Perugia, included among the most beautiful villages in Italy.
It is one of the 150 Italian villages recognized as an Orange Flag by Touring Club for the historical and artistic beauties but also for the welcoming capacity of its inhabitants
The most important event is the Market of Gaite, historical re-enactment that involves the entire citizenship and that will be central within the implementation of the DIGINV project.
The Market of Gaite is inspired by the ancient division of Bevagna in four quarters called Gaite on which the administrative organization of the city was based in the Middle Ages. The purpose of the event is to reconstruct with the greatest historical relevance and abundance of details the daily life of the inhabitants of Bevagna in the period between 1250 and 1350.
